More About Jade

Reaching Out

Jade met Hun in an orphanage in Northern Cambodia in early 2005. When asked what it was he wanted to do with his life Hang Hun replied 'I will be a doctor' (Hun's grasp of English is much better today)! Jade knew then that she would do all she could for this young man to realise his dream as the law of attraction had already started working for Hun. Once Hun had graduated from High School with the help of extra English and French lessons bought by Jade, he was moved from the security of the orphange to live on his own in a small room in the heart of the bustling capitol city of Phnom Penh. Hun was used to eating with 64 other people every day and helping in the preparation of the meals, but now it was hard for him to sit on his own in the local market at meal times and Jade worried about his weight. Today having completed 5 years of an 8 year course Hang Hun has made Pnomh Penh his home, he has met some good people along the way and now trains at a government hospital 5 days a week and finds the time to continue with his French and English lessons. His ambition is to work in the Cambodian countryside where medical help is needed the most. He really enjoys working with children, a legacy from his years spent in the orphanage and before that living in a Pagoda and being educated by kind monks that had seen his potential to learn.
